[...] Reprinted Articles wrote an interesting post today onHere’s a quick excerptIt will be now probably a half a year, since I discovered this band (thanks goes to my spinning friend Alice!). And, although I know all of theirs songs almost word by word and note by note now, still it is my most favourite band. And the most suitable one for listening to before going to sleep :-). So I told to myself, that it would not be so bad to tell about this band to all of you, who have not heard about it yet. So, just for the start, I am offering a few YouTube clips (songs), just to show you, what is their music about: Album “Simple things” - Destiny: [...]

Well, I thing that, in general, you're right. But seeing your reaction I assume that you haven't seen that film. That quote was related to all possible kinds of religion, that is, that all of them are the same. The God is only one, and doesn't matter, from what angle you're looking at this issue. And of course, it doesn't mean, that believing in murdering (for example) is right. Or better put, that it is socially right. But in a strict sense, all kind of opinions or religions are completely equal. What makes a difference between them is the social consensus of the majority of the population - therefore, this mostly accepted opinion or point of view is used as benchmark for other, different opinions or beliefs.

Sorry, but I can't agree with the quote “Doesn’t matter in what do you believe - what matterS is that you believe”.
First: some people believe that they should murder someone - is that OK?
Second: some people believe that they should kill everyone who believes in something else. Is that OK?
And, unfortunately, these are not reductio ad absurdum, but real examples.
I agree that everyone believes in something, but it not enough just to believe in something. It is like saying that doesn't matter what software the computer runs, at least it is running. But is "just running" really the meaning? Shouldn't the computer be useful and usable? For me, what I believe has impact on what I do, and that has impact on other people, on the world around me. I am what I do, what we do makes us us. And that is why the quote, especially in connection with "everyone believes in something", is complete nonsense, although it sounds great and tolerant and everything... Either something matters or nothing matters. If nothing matters, why bother. And if something matters, than it can't be just anything, otherwise it wouldn't matter.
I think we all agree that something matters. We have to stop hiding and find it.

jojo, Murakami je skvely, zhltla jsem ho celeho, ted uz jen cekam, co noveho napise, nebo co kdo prelozi do anglictiny...
Norske drevo se mi libilo asi nejmin a povidky bych asi taky podruhe vynechala.

Nejlepsi romany: Wild Sheep Chase, Wind-up Bird Chronicle, Hard-boiled Wonderland and the End of the World a Dance, Dance, Dance!

Akorat se knihy nesmi cist tesne po sobe, chce to prokladat necim odlehcenym...
